No New Posts

Brothers and Sisters,

I wanted to let you know that I will no longer be posting ideas to this blog.  I have come to the difficult decision that I do not believe in the church.  This has not been a matter of unworthiness or having been offended.  I have made my decision over months of careful study of Christ and the New Testament plus the Essays on Gospel Topics.  I believe that members of the church are good, sincere people and I wish you all the best.  I will leave the blog online as it is and you are welcome to use it in any way you like in your homes and callings.

All the best,
Erin

  3. I found this in a very fluky way (but there are no accidents with God). I applaud your courage and careful research, and I want to encourage you as you "work out your salvation with fear and trembling" -(Phil 2:12)- a lifelong quest! He "rewards those who earnestly seek him" (Heb. 11:6). Praying for you today as you experience true love and freedom in Christ! It's an exhilarating ride!

  10. I am also so sad to hear about your decision and will greatly miss all your posts. I am new to my calling as Primary Music Leader and have greatly relied on your ideas and artwork as I navigate this demanding but rewarding calling. I appreciate that you have chosen to leave up the blog as I have used many of your flip charts; they are some of my favorites. I will be sad that I no longer get to look forward to seeing the new things you create and post. I wish you all the best luck and hope you continue to look to God for direction in your life. Many Many thanks.

  17. I've loved your ideas. Im sorry you are going through a trial of faith, I've been there. I pray you will find peace and remember these things: I begin by reminding you that you are a daughter of a loving Father in Heaven and that His love remains constant. I know that such reassuring feelings of love are difficult to recall when you are in the midst of personal struggles or trials, disappointments, or broken dreams.

Jesus Christ knows about fierce struggles and trials. He gave His life for us. His final hours were brutal, beyond anything we can even comprehend, but His sacrifice for each one of us was the ultimate expression of His pure love.

No mistake, sin, or choice will change God’s love for us. That does not mean sinful conduct is condoned, nor does it remove our obligation to repent when sins are committed. But do not forget, Heavenly Father knows and loves you, and He is always ready to help. -Elder Renlund, Lest Thou Forget

  21. I'll be using one of your choosing games in Primary singing time today and will be thinking of you. I'm so sorry that we won't have your new ideas to draw upon. As an old man, I've appreciated so much the insight you've given me into what resonates with children as they learn these beautiful, faith-promoting songs. I will miss you a great deal. God bless you always for the good person you are.

  22. Oh I am so sad to read this. I have heard of your blog from many people and more recently have been pouring over it. Thank you so much for your service, love, and dedication and for sharing your insight and ideas with us! I have no doubt in my mind that your ward family will miss you, but also the hundreds if not thousands of others whose lives you have touched and whose Sundays you have undoubtedly helped to go more smoothly because of your service and generosity. Thank you!

  24. You are such a talented person and I've been so grateful over the years for your willingness to share all you created; you've blessed many lives. Your fun personality has also shown through all your posts. You're a light and so beloved by so many, the world over. Many have commented of a knowledge that you are so valuable and loved by God. I add my strong feelings that this is true. I was in the temple today and I thought of you and the things you must be going through. I added "OCDChorister" to the prayer roll, since I don't know your name. But the Lord knows you so well. I hope the prayers of all the temple goers here in Oregon contribute to you finding peace and joy. I wish I could hug you goodbye and thank you for all you've done for me and the children in my ward, personally!! With love and gratitude, Sarah

  25. I came to your site looking for ideas for primary singing time. Thankyou for your time and energy going into helping the primary! As the primary chorister In my ward I often feel tired, it is a selfless sacrifice of time and energy. But I know the music touches the childrens hearts and they can feel the saviors love for them and that makes it all worth it! Some children maybe going through very hard situations and it is truly strengthening for them. It has strengthened me so much more than I ever thought, its actually been a surprise and I realized how much I needed this calling. Singing with the children has helped heal the pain in my soul. Feeling the saviors love in our life, its life changing no matter who you are or what point you come to in your life. I know the hard work that goes into it so Thank you!!!

  28. I absolutely love your site and all the help it's given me. I, too, have come to the same decision as you for the same reasons - it is an eye-opener to study the Essays along with the New Testament. So far, I still attend church as I love so many of the people

  31. Once upon a time (like last month) I was a confident primary chorister, but the past few weeks have beat me down. Seriously, I came home in tears last week because the kids were so restless and not singing. I asked my 20-something son what he remembered liking about primary music, and he said he liked the pictures. Not the LDS Gospel Art ones that I use all of the time, but the fun ones that someone had drawn. Sadly, I do not draw. :(

So I went searching and found you. Thank you for sharing your ideas and talents, and also for keeping your blog online so I could find it. I am especially in awe of the snowflakes, and look forward to using them sometime (maybe soon since the kids seem to like singing "Once There Was a Snowman" no matter the season).

My husband and half of our children no longer believe in the church. Somedays I'm not sure what I believe either. But music is one thing that keeps me feeling good most of the time, so I keep at it. All the best to you on your journey.

  33. I just found your blog today as I am subbing in my ward this month in Primary for singing time. I read your blog post tonight and it made me feel so sad. I hope you find what you are looking for- and that you find peace. I know we all go through faith struggles at points in our lives, and it is through those struggles that I have come closer to the Savior. They have actually strengthened my testimony of the church. Sending hugs :) And thanks for the awesome blog, and leaving it up for all to use and enjoy.

  34. Your talents have been a great blessing to me and the children in my ward. I am greatly going to miss your posts, but I wish you all the best. It says a great deal about your character that you are willing to leave this blog up and continue to help others, even though you may believe differently than us now. I'll be thinking of you and hoping you find peace.

  35. Erin, Your lovely art and fun ideas have blessed my life in my calling. I'm no artist, but love the music and the children, so everything you've done has made it even easier for me to love the best job in the Church.
You've made a very difficult decision, and I wish you all the best. Remember that God loves you (he must, because he blessed you with such creative gifts!) May he watch over you, and guide you.
