Temple Board Game

Update:  for some reason, I'm having tons of trouble uploading the file correctly.  While I try to figure it out, here is a link to the original .jpeg file.  You can either take it to a printer or try blockposters.com or Microsoft Publisher.

Use this board game to review songs for the Primary Program

1.  Download and print the document at the bottom of the page.  This document is formatted to print on 8.5" x 11" paper and fits on a standard 28" x 22" pasteboard with a half-inch border.  If you need different sizes, try left clicking on the image and saving it to your computer.  Then use Microsoft Publisher or blockposters.com to create a tiled image in the size you need.

2.  Attach the game board to the black board at the front of the room.  Depending on the surface, you can use magnets, thumb tacks, or papers with stick tack as the game pieces.  The game is meant to be played all together on a single team.  If you do decide to use two teams, plan for the game to take more than one week.

3.  Choose a child to roll the die.  Move the game piece the appropriate number of spaces.  If you land on a blank space, go again.  If you land on a space with a symbol, do the following:

Text Bubble:  Read the children a line from one of the program songs, omitting one word.  Ask the children to tell you which word belongs in the blank.  You  might need to tell them which song the line is from.

Question Mark:  Ask the children about a real-life scenario they may encounter and have them answer what they would do, using a program song for inspiration.  You might need to help them decide which song to use.

Musical Notes:  Ask the children to sing a song or a verse of a song.

Star:  Go again and skip the next instruction.

4.  Help the children understand how Primary music can help them prepare to receive the blessings of the temple.

Sample for Text Bubble:
Praise to the Man
Q:  Kings shall _________ him and nations revere
A:  Extol

Sample for Question Marks:
I Love to See the Temple
Q:  What do you do in the temple?
A:  Feel the Holy Spirit, Listen, Pray, Covenant with my Father, promise to obey, get sealed together.

  1. When I click on the PDF it comes up with a use agreement being reached and making me purchase PDF Complete in order to access it. I have Adobe on my machine and shouldn't have to buy something else right?

  2. I love how great your game board is. I'd love to use it but I too, am having the issue with the PDF complete sign on every page. Sometimes the image is blocking the little game squares. I have Adobe as well as Microsoft Publisher 2010 version and Microsoft Word 2010 (don't know if it would tile in Word. If there is a work around I'd love to know.
