2014 Outline Songs Are Out

The new songs for 2014 have been announced.  I'm going to try to illustrate as many as possible this winter before I move.  Here's the link and here are the songs:

He Sent His Son
I Will Follow God's Plan
(Hymn) I Stand All Amazed
The Family is of God
Baptism
Seek the Lord Early

What do you think!?

  1. Where did you see this? I feel like this is dejavu from when I was the primary chorister back in 2009-2010. Do you know what the theme is?

    1. I thought EXACTLY the same thing. I even deleted my first post because I was too unsure. I saw a list of previous themes and songs on Sugardoodle, though, and it looks like they recycle the same five topics and many of the songs every five years.

  3. I know there always inspired, but I'm not a fan of The Family is of God. Words are great, just don't like the music put to it. Also, didn't we JUST do I Will Follow God's Plan last year? Oh well.... it will all turn out okay in the end.

    1. I completely agree about "The Family is of God." I would have MUCH preferred "My Eternal Family." But I wasn't excited about "A Child's Prayer" this year, and I had some great experiences teaching it. I do think the second and third verses of "The Family is of God" are really important for the children to learn right now. I can get behind it if only for that reason.

    2. I just read through the lyrics. In my home I "provide" and lead family prayer. My husband stays home and cares for our children. Teaching and singing this song with the spirit will be a big challenge for me.

    3. I have a friend who doesn't have hands. She brushes her teeth with her feet. That's not how Heavenly Father designed our bodies, but that's the way hers works. That doesn't mean she's doing it wrong and it doesn't mean that Heavenly Father's design was flawed. I think the song describes how families were designed to work. If individual families are getting things done in a different way, that's great! As long as you're getting done what needs to get done. That's what I would emphasize- that we're given families for a purpose and that we're given two parents for a purpose and if families have different circumstances, they fill those needs in the best way they can. <3
